With Brazil scheduled to host four major events scheduled over the next six years - The Military Games, The FIFA World Cup, The Olympic Games and The Paralympics -investments estimated at US $3 billion will be needed to bring stadiums and training facilities up to international standards.

Shortly after the announcement of Rio de Janeiro’s successful bid for the 2016 Olympics, Real Alliance successfully held the first edition of Expo Estádio, a tradeshow and conference for the stadium and sports venue industry in Sao Paulo. Six months later, with the Brazilian Government’s infrastructure plans announced, the 2010 edition has tripled the number of confirmed exhibitors and has a strong line up of conferences and talks.

Major new companies join returning exhibitors for 2010 show

Sebas van den Ende, Director of Real Alliance, comments: “We tripled the number of square meters we had in 2009 and this space has already filled up with confirmations and reservations. Major new companies are participating alongside returning exhibitors such as Bayer, Bridon, Evonic, Magnetic, Mehler and Telemática.”

All industry sectors, such as roofing companies, seating companies, world-class turf producers, manufacturers of parking and access control equipment and audio and video installation suppliers, will be represented and exhibiting at Expo Estádio.

“We.are seeing great development in the conference program. Where last year’s entities such as ARQPRESS, Brazil’s leading publisher for architects, held seminars focused on the early planning stages for the architects involved in all the FIFA 2014 stadiums projects, this year the attention is on tackling the implementation issues.”

Associations like ABCIC, the Association of the Brazilian Concrete Construction Industry, will be hosting seminars for the numerous fixture, fitting, security and hospitality companies required to provide the state of the art finishes to the new stadiums. Segnews, the leading security publication, will also be organizing a three-day program on the security of stadiums and sports facilities.

“With major industry players like this participating at the event, we are convinced we will be attracting the right buyers and decision-makers to the event.
